Identifying and Solidifying your Theoretical Orientation in Play Therapy

Description:

This 3 hour training provides an overview of the major theoretical orientations and a few models of play therapy. It is designed to give you a brief understanding of each theory and to focus on helping guide you to establish your identity within the field of play therapy in order to strengthen your theoretical foundation and your play therapy work.

 

Objectives:

1. Play therapists will be able to identify the basic tenants of each major play therapy theory.
2. Play therapist will be able to describe eclecticism and how it can be ethically used while maintaining a strong theoretical base during play therapy treatment.
3. Play therapists will describe how their theory base can be utilized with models of play therapy to increase their strength and effectiveness.
