Play Therapists Advocating for Clients in Schools
Description: Participants will discuss the complications of working in and with schools to advocate for student mental health. The training will identify the difficulties experienced by school admin and teachers in implementing therapist recommended strategies. It will also teach classroom fitting strategies for supporting student regulation and neuro-affirming learning approaches.
Objectives:

Participants will identify the values and stressors of school administrators and teachers that interact with supporting students struggling with mental health.

Participants will describe classroom appropriate strategies supporting student mental health.

Participant will describe at least 3 strategies for supporting neuro-affirming learning strategies in the classroom.

Training is provided by a Texas LPC-S and counts for the minimum 50% approved provider requirement of the Texas Administrative Code.
